On the other hand, paneer, another major ingredient of this recipe, is famous for its high protein content. It is the best source of protein for vegetarians and helps in strengthening our bones and teeth. Also, having a content of healthy fats makes it top the charts in the list of weight loss foods.

In a recent Instagram post, Meghna Kamdar, a well-known chef and digital influencer, shared her recipe of palak paneer chilla. “Wanted to make something full of iron and protein that even kids would carry in tiffin. So here you go Palak Paneer Chila made from spinach and moong dal,” she wrote in her caption. Let’s take a look at the recipe!

Here’s how to make palak paneer chilla:

Ingredients

* 1 cup yellow moong dal (soaked for 3-4 hours)
* 1 bunch of spinach
* 1 tbsp chopped ginger
* 1 tsp chopped green chili
* 1 tbsp chopped garlic
* Salt
* 1 chopped onion
* 1 chopped tomato
* 100 gm paneer
* Coriander

Method

1. In a blender, add the soaked moong dal, chopped spinach, ginger, green chilies and garlic. Add some water and make a smooth batter out of it.

2. Take out the batter in a bowl and add some salt to it.

3. Take another bowl and mix chopped coriander, onions, tomatoes and some grated paneer in it.

4. Now take a non-stick pan and brush the pan with some ghee or olive oil. Make sure you don’t use too much as that won’t be necessary or healthy.

5. Heat the pan on medium heat and spread the batter in round chillas. You can either make small 4-5 chillas or just make 1 big one.

6. On top of the spread batter, add the vegetable-paneer mixture that we made in another bowl and cook from both sides until they are done.

7. Your palak paneer chilla is ready to serve! You can have it with tomato or cilantro chutney.
